Community Workshop, 152b Corn Street, Witney. OX28 6BY
Opening hours (for repairs, servicing, DIY workshop and volunteering):
June 2020 – we are still open by appointment only – please contact us to make an appointment.
At each session there is a trained mechanic and a volunteer. The workshop is open for anyone to come and use our tools, buy spare parts, and get help and advice from the mechanic (either Will, Kevin, Kevin or Neil). We hope that you will leave with a fixed bike, and knowledge of how to keep it on the road. We have a price tariff based on the time you spend in the workshop and any parts you need for your bike.
On Monday and Fridays we run our adult learning drop in courses. If you are out of work, recovering from ill health, lonely or isolated we can give you 11 hours of free tuition on bike mechanics. This can set you up to volunteer for us in the longer term.
During our open sessions volunteers work on donated or abandoned bikes to get them roadworthy. These will be used on our ‘build a bike’ courses for vulnerable people, or given to school children who don’t have a bike as part of the Bikeability Recycled scheme. We also sell these bikes.
We now offer Bike Servicing. We offer a high quality competitive package for bike servicing and repairs. For more information please see our workshop prices. Bikes can be dropped off at any of our open sessions. If you have a mechanical question then email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many thanks to the Phillimore Charitable Trust, Greensquare Housing Association and the Mid Counties Cooperative, Awards for All, The Funding Network, Jim Cousins Trust, Bartlett Taylor Trust as well as a number of individuals for your generous grants.
