Our Community Workshop is open every Saturday and Tuesday from 10am – 2pm at Cogges Manor Farm, OX28 3LA. At each session there is a trained mechanic and a volunteer. The workshop is open for anyone to come and use our tools, buy spare parts, and get help and advice from the mechanic (either Will, Cary or Steve). We hope that you will leave with a fixed bike, and knowledge of how to keep it on the road. We have a price tariff based on the time you spend in the workshop and any parts you need for your bike.
Our Tuesday sessions are free for people out of work, and also serve as a drop in for vulnerable or disadvantaged people.
During our open sessions volunteers work on donated or abandoned bikes to get them roadworthy. These will be used on our ‘build a bike’ courses for vulnerable people, or given to school children who don’t have a bike as part of the Bikeability Recycled scheme. We also sell these bikes.
Many thanks to the Phillimore Charitable Trust, Greensquare Housing Association and the Mid Counties Cooperative, as well as a number of individuals for your generous grants which have enabled us to set up the Open Workshop.
